Unit 2: A Hilarious Case

A: ‘-ian/ -ese/ -ish’.  These word endings often describe the people and languages they speak from some countries.  Examples:  Canadian/Indian, Chinese/Japanese, Scottish.

I. Read the Rhyming Chant.

 

It’s a wonderful world that we live in,
Either Chinese, Japanese or Canadian.
We all live together and I have one wish,
That we all get along- Indians, Portuguese or Scottish.

II. Listen to the teacher and write –ian/-ese or –ish in the blanks.

B. ‘-ist/ -or’. These word endings talk about what a person does. Examples:  A person who acts in an actor.  A person that tours in another city or country is a tourist.
